Church Building for the Skobelevo CoG Mon, 03 Sep 2007 00:00:00 -0400 Description Skobelevo is one of the numerous villages in the Stara Zagora County, where the population is predominantly elderly or middle aged people, whose only source of income is the produce of their gardens. Most of the people are poor and live in unsatisfactory conditions. A high percentage of the people, living in the villages are from minority background. The little local church in Skobelevo is being led by a man of God called Yordan Yordanov. Yordan was born in 1973. He is married and has two children. Seven years ago he accepted Christ and currently he is a deacon at Kermen Church of God. There he works under the leadership of the pastor and ministers in different capacities. The leadership of the church consider deacon Yordan to be a serious person, who wants to dedicate all his efforts into the ministry. He himself has done a lot to develop his ministerial skills. He has undergone the MIP Program and continues to further his biblical knowledge. Deacon Yordan travels every week to the little village of Skobelevo to preach the Word and to encourage the congregation there. The church has three services – on Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday. The membership of the church is about 20 people. During the last 2 years the church services have been conducted in a small hall in the municipality, but now the church should vacate the place and move to another location. However, there are no more free halls, where the believers can meet. Their only option is to meet at believers' homes, which is very difficult and inconvenient. The Skobelevo Church of God needs financial assistance for a church building. Request For a piece of land: $ 1, 500For the building: $ 5, 000 TOTAL: $ 6, 500 Church Building for the Hristeni CoG Thu, 30 Aug 2007 00:00:00 -0400 Description The Hristeni Church of God is located approximately 10 miles east of the city of Stara Zagora. The village is part of the Stara Zagora region. Its population is more than 2, 400 people. The church there is located in the gypsy quarter of the village. In this neighborhood live more than 1,000 people, most of whom are extremely poor and having no jobs and very little or any financial support. The pastor of the Hristeni Church of God is Dinko Stoinov. He is a person of great commitment and contagious passion for God. He has a great heart for the people not only in his church but in his whole community. His whole family is Christian. In 1992 his wife and he accepted Christ as their Savior. Six years later he started the church with his family and 3 more people using one of the two rooms in their house. The church has grown and matured in the last several years. It has three weekly services. The pastors and the church leaders regularly visit the homes of elderly and sick people. They pray for them and encourage them to believe in God as the only source of hope and a better future. The impact of the church in the gypsy quarter of the village is strong and positive. Now they have more than 80 adults and 30 kids. However, now the church faces a concrete problem. The rooms, where the people meet for services are not big enough to fit all the believers. Thus, in order for the church to continue to function and to follow God's Commission, they need their own church building. To accomplish this, they need to buy a piece of land, on which to build a church. Request The following amounts are needed: For a piece of land: $7,500For building the church: $25,00 TOTAL: $32,500 Church Building for Mokren CoG Thu, 02 Aug 2007 00:00:00 -0400 Description The village of Mokren is located in the Sliven County, which is part of theStara Zagora Region of the Bulgarian Church of God. The village is founded in a mountainous area with a population of 872 people. The pastor of the local congregation in Mokren – Milcho Yankov, is from the Roma minority and has been raised in a very poor family. During his early childhood he was left without a father and that complicated his life even more. He started living his life out on the streets, and joined a very bad company of friends, who led him into a lot of trouble. He has been called in the police many times for different criminal activities, and spent 2 years in prison. However, he was blessed by a kind and considerate wife, who tried to help him overcome his destructive life pattern. They started a family, but his wife lost his first two children through spontaneous abortions. This prompted both of them to cry out to God and seek Him in their lives. On March 11, 2001 Milcho joined a small home church, where he found his new family. The people there showed him God's love and he decided once and for all to turn away from his bad habits. And then a miracle happened in his life. God gave him a beautiful daughter, even though the doctors did not give the couple any hope. Then Milcho dedicated to become a minister and started preaching the Word of God with zeal. A year later the church grew from 20 to 40 members. This small home church was later registered as Grace BCoG and the believers started meeting for their weekly worship services in a small garage. Four years after his conversion, Milcho Yankov was ordained as the pastor of this church. Currently the membership of the church is about 60 people, fired up for God and with a zeal for ministry. In their desire to grow as a church they have bought a 300 square meters of land, where they want to build their church building with a church hall and rooms for the Sunday school. Request In order to build their sanctuary, the believers in Mokren need the following amounts: For foundation – $ 3, 200 For the rough structure - $ 4, 400 For the roof - $ 5, 400 For painting and furnishing - $ 6, 600 TOTAL: $ 19, 600 Church building for the church in the town of Tvurdica Sun, 01 Jan 2006 00:00:00 -0500 1. Description:Tvurdica (area 442,5 sq.km.) is a city with a population of 14 998 people. It is settled in the southern outskirts of the Sredna Gora Mountain, 40 miles north-east from the city of Stara Zagora. Our church there is located in the gypsy quarter of town – considered the ghetto of the outcasts. In this neighborhood live more than 3,000 people, most of whom are extremely poor having no jobs and very little of any financial support. The pastor of the local church Veselin Minchev is a real man of God, who has proven his faithfulness thru the years. He is a person of great commitment and contagious zeal for God. He has a great heart for the people not only in his church but in his whole community. He is a respected man and everyone in town regards him as the MAN OF GOD. In the environment, where the church is located, the believers have managed to build up strong influence proclaiming the Gospel of Christ. It currently has a membership of 100 adults and that many kids. The church meets in a rented garage, which from the outside and the inside looks more like a catacomb than a civil building. The sanitarian conditions in the church are totally indescribable. Water is running down from the ceiling and from the walls. Windows are unsealed and during the winter in the church it is very cold. Regardless of all this the church is always packed for service. Services are dynamic and the presence of God is tangible. The church ministers in many different ways in their community helping people get out of crime and prostitution. Social ministry is a central point in their agenda and they are trying to provide bread for families that can not afford it. The greatest need of this local church is of a church building. For the 12 years since the founding of the existence the people have been praying to have their own worship house, but now that the owner of the garage has asked them to leave they are literally moving out on the streets. Now we bought the land - square meters (10,763 sq. ft). But we need to build the church. 2. DetailsThe future sanctuary will seat 300 people.
